RoSPA Congress considers protecting people and adding value
This week's Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) Safety and Health at Work Congress - 'Protecting People, Adding Value', will examine the key themes of director leadership, effective workforce consultation and promoting a workforce health at work agenda.
Delegates attending can 'mix and match' sessions on topics such as:

risk aversion;
behavioural safety;
safety for trainees;
workplace transport;
tackling stress at work;
absence management;
safety and the ageing workforce;
obesity; and
occupational road risk.
The congress, which is sponsored by EDF Energy, runs alongside Safety & Health Expo 2006 at the NEC, Birmingham, May 9-11.

Comment:
“High standards of health and safety performance are increasingly being regarded as a sign of business efficiency and professionalism. The whole workforce needs to be involved in order to achieve sustainable change. New legislation, guidance and enforcement initiatives by the HSE and local authorities are causing businesses to rethink their approach to tackling ongoing problems. Everyone from the boardroom to the shop floor has to play a part if they are to be successful.” - RoSPA Occupational Safety Adviser.
